TUV Conference

Courtesy of UTV, the profile of the TUV – as represented at its annual conference – is a bit clearer. The conference, which appeared to have attracted between 120 and 50 people (8 or 9 rows of chairs, with around 16 per row), most of whom are middle-aged (or older) men, along with a few equally middle-aged women:

There were at least a handful of people under 40 present – but only a handful:

Evidence of a youth wing is totally lacking. It seems that time and mortality will bring about the demise of the TUV rather sooner than most of the other parties.

Jim Allister’s speech to the conference was a repetition of his anti-DUP bluster of the past two years, but its constant repetition coming into the run-up to next year’s Westminster election can only add to the DUP’s gloom. There now appears to be no question that the fight within unionism will be three-sided – perhaps to nationalism’s advantage. A divided unionism is a weakened unionism, and for that (if nothing else) nationalists can only thank Jim Allister.

Interesting though Hoboroad?
When I was young I hardly listened to my parents
Jim is preaching to the converted, ie: a ready audience.
What Unionism lacks, and arguably never has had, is a vision for the future.
Whats your thoughts?

They never look to the future always living in the past. Although I would not rule out UCUNF pulling a couple of rabbits out of the hat. Robinson and company have really nothing new to offer.

I agree they always hanker after the past.
UNCUNF has as much chance of a rabbit in their hat as they do of a tricoloured sheep at the moment IMOP
Still, perhaps when Andy signs up for alliance there may be some hope!!! Haha

I think David Cameron could show up at a GAA match before the next General Election. If Culture Warrior Nelson McCausland can manage it why not Dave?

Tenner for the best Picture!

Andy is off to India for 2 1/2 weeks on Tuesday, so hopefully he doesn't have access to the internet.

Going to take a tour of the old Empire...

I am told by a well informed source that the conference was absolutely excellent with a sizable number of
the younger generation present and, I believe, participating. It's pretty clear that this is a vibrant, growing party and one to watch in the future. Well done to Jim Allister and his colleagues for their
hard work in organizing such a memorable event.

Re: ... a sizable number of

, could you tell us where they were sitting, because the UTV screenshot covers a large part of the audience, and 'young' would not be the word I'd use, apart from the three or four in the second screenshot (focussing on the two young blonds)?

Are you sure you're not just telling porkies to try to make your party sound better than it really is?

IT SHOULD SURPRISE NO ONE THAT ULSTÈR'S YOUNG PEOPLE OF TODAY ARE UNWILLING TO FOLLOW AN UNCERTAIN DRUMMER!!!!!

TUV'S "APOLOGY" TO ULSTÈR'S ENEMIES IN THE CULTURE WAR, WITHIN A WEEK OF THEIR CONFERENCE OPENING, HAS EXPOSED KEITH HARBINSON & JIM ALLISTER AS COWARDS, TRAITORS, LUNDIES AND BIG GIRLS' BLOUSES!!!!!!!

WHAT IS SURPRISING THAT THE PARTY DIDN'T COMPLETELY HEMORRHAGE WITHIN DAYS OF THEIR GROVELING SURRENDER AND THAT ANYONE HAD ATTENDED!!!!
